Individual ability will make the difference
We're heading toward a time when only people with strong individual capabilities will keep up. That's a blunt way to put it, but it's how I see the direction of travel. The more AI lets one person do, the more it matters what they notice, what they choose, and how far they can turn an idea into something real.
That ability includes working with AI and other people. I don't need to do everything with my own hands. I do need a sense of what I want to build, why now, and what I find interesting—and the ability to act on it.
Keep removing bottlenecks
The practical work is to find what I think is a bottleneck and make it faster. Build an agent when one is needed. If taking in inquiries and requests from outside is where things get stuck, improve that process. If preparing estimates takes too long, speed that up too.
Once development gets faster, another step can become the bottleneck. From receiving an inquiry to starting work, from building something to getting it used: I'll work on whatever is holding up the whole process at that point. Clear one bottleneck, then move to the next.
Without sharing, the work can stay invisible
People not knowing the work exists is another bottleneck. Having substance doesn't guarantee that people will eventually find you. You can keep building and still have nobody know the work exists. Communication matters, and I need to do more of it.
In NexA Voice #076, we talked about whether someone can be an influencer without putting things out. What I want is to build products and make them widely used. Being able to reach people would help. I don't need to express every thought, though, and I don't want other people's reactions to decide what I pursue. I'm still working out that balance.
What should I leave behind if AI gets better at seeing substance?
I expect AI to get better at grasping what lies beneath the surface: what someone has actually built, how they think, and what they've fixed along the way. Its ability to read that accumulated history will improve.
AI still misunderstands things and misses things today. Over time, though, I expect surface polish alone to get people less far. I want to develop my capabilities and leave a public record of what those capabilities produced.
The things I made, the reasons for decisions, and what didn't work. Where things got stuck, what I changed, and what started moving again. I want to leave material that lets both people and AI see that process. Communication carries more weight when it's connected to the actual work.
Creator Studio and YouTube are part of that experiment
The YouTube work I'm doing through NariyaChan's Creator Studio is part of this. Conversations with AI leave a record of what I'm thinking about, what I'm building, and what's going wrong. I can talk, think, and find the next thing to try before I have a finished answer.
In the latest episode, #078, I considered how to show development and decision-making so that someone might want to work with me. A screen recording, my face, an avatar? I'll experiment with the presentation. What I want people to understand through it is what I build and how I build it.
I'd like each video to make my thinking a little clearer and help people find the things I've made. It's still a work in progress. Come watch the experiments on YouTube, too.
So, I'll keep trying things
Develop my capabilities while working on whatever is stuck right now. Make building, bringing in work, and getting it to people faster.
I won't have every answer before I start. I'll think while doing, change what needs changing, and leave that process here and on YouTube.
That's where I'm headed. More things to build, and more things to try.
